Univest Enhances Commitment to SBA Lending

Michael Donato joins as senior vice president and managing director of SBA Lending and will report to Joseph Keefer, executive vice president and group manager for Univest’s East Penn & NJ Commercial Banking Division. Donato will lead a dedicated team with extensive experience meeting the financial needs of small businesses in the region.

Keim, president, Univest Bank and Trust Co. “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities and an increased commitment to SBA lending with a focused team and dedicated resources will improve our ability to meet the needs of those businesses. I’m pleased to welcome Michael, Edwin and Kristine as they join Dan to serve small businesses and help them see what’s possible with Univest.”

Donato brings more than 34 years of experience in the financial services industry to his role at Univest with 23 of those years dedicated exclusively to SBA lending. Most recently, Donato served as national director of SBA sales for Citizen’s Bank. He received a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University. He is active in the community and currently serves as the treasurer for the Arden Theatre Company. Donato resides in Limerick, Pa.

Kristine Koehler joins as vice president and SBA credit underwriting manager. She brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry to her role at Univest. Most recently, Koehler served as senior SBA underwriter at Fulton Bank. Koehler received a bachelor’s degree from Moravian College. She is active in the local community serving as a VITA/CTE certified volunteer tax preparer for the Berks County AARP. Koehler resides in Berks County, Pa.

Edwin Román joins as vice president and SBA relationship manager. He brings more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry to his role at Univest. Most recently, Román served as commercial relationship manager at Fulton Bank. He is active in the local community serving as a board member for the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and on the finance committee for the Arden Theatre. Román resides in Philadelphia, Pa.

Dan Yocum serves as assistant vice president and SBA relationship manager. He joined Univest in 2015 as SBA administrator. Yocum earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in public administration from George Mason University. He is active in the local community serving as president of the Souderton-Telford Rotary Club, financial secretary of Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Souderton Borough Council, chair of Souderton Industrial Development Authority and curator of the Univest Museum. Yocum resides in Souderton, Pa.
