SOUDERTON, Pa., March 30, 2017 – Univest Bank and Trust Co. recently presented Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC ® ) of thePhiladelphia Region Inc. with a check for $14,354. The money was raised through a donation from Univest and the Adopt a Blarney fundraiser which sold plush dogsat 37 Univest financial centers across Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties and Ocean City, NJ. Univest customers and employees embraced the promotion and showed support for RMHC by purchasing more than 1,100 of the Blarneys during the month-long sale.

The check was presented to RMHC at its 8th Annual Change the Luck of a Child Telethon which aired live on CBS 3 andthe CW Philly on March 28, 2017. The telethon raised more than $1.2 million to support RMHC’s mission to create, find and support programs that directly improve thehealth and well-being of children.

Univest has been actively growing its support of Philadelphia nonprofits since entering the city in January 2015 and has made commitments totaling more than $350,000 to support Philadelphia nonprofit organizations over the course of 2017. Supporting the local communities it serves is a focus for Univest that plays amajor role in its expansion efforts. In 2016, Univest donated more than $1.7 million across its service area and its employees contributed 17,600 volunteer hours.
