Univest Financial Awards $5,000 to a Moment of Magic Foundation - Temple University Chapter as Winner of Ninth Annual Caring For Community Giveaway
January 7, 2021 – Univest Financial recently announced A Moment of Magic Foundation’s Temple University Chapter as the winner of its ninth annual Caring for Community Giveaway, a contest that awards $5,000 to a local, nonprofit organization. A Moment of Magic Foundation’s mission is to restore the magic of believing at a time when a child needs to “just be a kid” and reminding them to be brave, strong and fearless. They do this by providing a variety of services to hospitals, nonprofit organizations and individual families. A Moment of Magic Foundation consists of college-age students dressing as some of the world's most popular princesses and other characters for bedside visits, event appearances, book readings, sing-a-longs and character video calls. The Temple University Chapter has created moments of magic for more than 8,000 children in the Philadelphia area and beyond.
Nonprofit groups were nominated for the $5,000 donation by the public through Univest’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn pages. The Moment of Magic Foundation was randomly selected from more than 3,000 entries representing 125 local, nonprofit organizations. Previous winners of the Caring for Community Giveaway were Kisses for Kyle Foundation, Quakertown Community Outreach, Logan’s Heroes Animal Rescue, Hope Against Heroin, St. Isidore School, The Grannie Project, Vets for Vets and the Bucks County SPCA.
The contest launched December 1, 2020 and entries were accepted through December 31, 2020. To be eligible to win the $5,000, the nonprofit group had to be a registered 501 (c) (3) organization that operates within Univest’s service area. Complete rules can be found at www.univest.net/caringforcommunity.
