Positive Signs for the Economy Discussed at
Univest's Economic Summit
On May 30, Univest hosted its annual Economic Summit at PineCrest Country Club. Luke Tilley, a regional economic advisor with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, presented to more than 100 members of the local business community, discussing recent national and regional economic trends and the outlook for the remainder of 2013. Tilley was more optimistic in his presentation this year, citing signs that the economy is recovering, including growth in production and an improving jobs picture.
Tilley also noted that consumers are gaining confidence and increasing spending; new and existing home sales are on the rise and foreclosures are down; and businesses are continuing to increase investments.
