Business Insurance

Aetna Becomes a Part of CVS Health

The combination of CVS Health and Aetna is a transformative moment for the industry. With the combined capabilities of two leading organizations, the goal is to help transform the consumer health experience through a new innovative health care model that is easier to use, less expensive and puts consumers at the center of their care. The new company will have a local focus, engaging consumers with the care they need when and where they need it, will make a complicated system simpler for all and will help people achieve better health at a lower cost. They are also committed to leading change in health care by challenging the status quo with new technologies, business models and partnerships. In doing so will deliver on their purpose of helping people on their path to better health.

A strong Aetna management team will remain, including Karen Lynch, who will serve as Executive Vice President of CVS Health and will continue as President of Aetna, which will be a stand-alone business unit of CVS Health. Ms. Lynch is a seasoned professional with a strong strategic orientation and proven track record.
