Univest Celebrates 130th Anniversary with $130,000 Gift to the Community

 

SOUDERTON, Pa, June 23, 2006 – Univest National Bank and Trust Co. (listed on NASDAQ: UVSP), headquartered in Souderton, Pa., celebrated its 130th anniversary last week with several events including a community celebration at the Univest Plaza in Souderton on Wednesday, June 14.  William S. Aichele, chairman, president and CEO of Univest Corporation, was joined by his three immediate predecessors for a ceremony commemorating the anniversary during which Univest presented local community organizations with donations totaling $130,000.   Univest National Bank and Trust Co. was founded as Union National Bank and Trust Co. on June 12, 1876.

Presenting the check are K. Leon Moyer (left), president and chief operating officer of Univest National Bank and Trust Co., and William S. Aichele (right), chairman and CEO of Univest National Bank and Trust Co.  Representatives from the benefiting organizations pictured from left to right include Carol Washko, Director of Advancement of Penn Foundation; Dr. James Linksz, President and Tobi Bruhn, Foundation Executive Director of Bucks County Community College; Jim Williams, Executive Director of ASSETS MONTCO; Bob Rutt, Executive Director of Penn View Christian School; Bob Kramer, CEO of the Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club; Bill Norcross, former President and Chairman of the Board for the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce; Elaine A.
