Univest Recognized As One Of The Top Healthiest Workplaces And Most Charitable Givers By The Philadelphia Business Journal

SOUDERTON, Pa, June 18, 2010 – Univest Bank and Trust Co.SM, a subsidiary of Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania (NASDAQ: UVSP), was recently honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the healthiest workplaces and one of the most charitable givers for the Philadelphia region.

This year was the inaugural year for the Healthy Workplace Award, an award given to companies based on the type of wellness programs offered to foster healthy lifestyles for employees and family members. In the first year, Univest Bank and Trust Co.SM tied for third place in the Gold category for large businesses in the Philadelphia area. The winning companies were selected by an eight-person panel consisting of Philadelphia Business Journal staff and independent judges. They scored nominations based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative data on company wellness programs and perks. Judges identified employers offering numerous fitness ideas, creative wellness programs and incentives promoting healthy lifestyles.

The Most Charitable Givers award is now in its third year. This is the second consecutive year Univest was honored for its philanthropic efforts. Univest received awards for being among the top 25 Most Charitable Givers, being in the top three for Philanthropic Donors and top three for In-Kind donations for the large business category. The awards were presented during the 2010 Corporate Philanthropy Summit in Philadelphia.
