Univest To Highlight Healthy Finances, Healthy Life - Healthy Earth During Community Banking Week, April 18 - 25
SOUDERTON, Pa, April 15, 2009 - Univest National Bank and Trust Co. (listed on NASDAQ: UVSP) will promote Healthy Finances, Healthy Life & Healthy Earth during a number of events planned for Community Banking Week, April 18 - 25 at various Univest locations throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Throughout the week, Univest's financial professionals will host various life and earth events, financial information sessions and recycling initiatives to tie into the theme including:
Healthy Finances
During Community Banking Week, Univest offices will provide handouts outlining the various benefits of the government relief programs to help individuals and businesses, and financial advisors will be available for one-on-one meetings in various financial service centers. Healthy Life
- Healthy Kids Day – Univest is celebrating Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 18 with special events at its Franconia and Perkasie offices. Branch managers will read The Berenstain Bears "DOLLAR$ AND $EN$E" book and Brother and Sister Bear will visit and provide attendees with giveaways, refreshments and chances to have their photo taken with them. The Franconia event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Allentown Road and Route 113, and the Perkasie event will be held at 545 Constitution Avenue from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Blood Pressure Screenings – Univest has partnered with various nonprofit organizations in the community to provide the public with free blood pressure screenings. The Lansdale Office at the corner of Route 63 and Forty Foot Road will offer screenings Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Schwenksville Office, located at 415 Main Street, will host screenings also on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Child Fingerprinting – The Lansdale Office, located at the corner of Route 63 and Forty Foot Road will offer fingerprinting from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Plumsteadville Office, located at 5829 Easton Road, will offer child fingerprinting on Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Healthy Earth
Univest National Bank and Trust Co. has various displays in its offices to help customers, employees and the community understand how they can help improve the environment, reduce their carbon footprint and learn more about protecting the Earth. In addition, various offices are providing recycling programs throughout the week to help raise money for area nonprofits. The participating offices and recycling initiatives include:
- East Greenville Office is recycling cell phones to benefit the Domestic Violence Task Force division of the Open Line.
- East Greenville Office has partnered with the East Greenville Borough to have recycling bins for plastic, aluminum and cardboard/newspapers outside of the office for the community.
- Green Lane Office will be holding a clothing drive to provide gently used clothing to those in need. Support will be provided through the Goodwill and Salvation Army.
- Kulpsville Office is collecting used toys in good condition to donate to local daycare centers.
- Lansdale Area Office will provide bins in the lobby for customers to recycle plastic and aluminum.
- Line Lexington Office is hosting Allied Waste all week. Allied Waste will have a display and information about recycling, as well as hand out earth-friendly giveaways.
- Royersford Office is recycling eye glasses through the local Lions Club.
- Silverdale Office will be collecting used Ink cartridges and old cell phones to donate to A Women's Place.
Univest National Bank and Trust Co. is currently working on constructing its first earthy-friendly facility in Hilltown, Bucks County. Customers and the public are invited to visit the existing office located at Route 113 and Old Bethlehem Pike throughout Community Banking Week to learn about the LEED-certified office and what they can look forward to with the new office coming in late 2009.
