Univest To Highlight Importance Of Sound Financial Management, Identity Protection During Community Banking Week, April 5-12
Week includes many financialSEN$E activities including seminars offering financial advice; appearance by Berenstain Bears author; sensitive document shredding events; “Community Hero” donation to charity; and more.
SOUDERTON, Pa., March 28, 2008 – Univest Corporation (listed on NASDAQ: UVSP) will promote the importance of sound financial management and identity protection at a number of events planned for Community Banking Week, April 5-12. In addition, the corporation will make its semi-annual “Community Hero Checking” donation of $500 to a local charity and will hold customer appreciation events at each of its 33 financial service centers in Bucks and Montgomery counties.
“Community Banking Week gives us an opportunity to highlight the vital role community banks play in America’s communities and to provide valuable financial guidance to area residents,” said K. And identity theft is a growing problem. Throughout the week and beyond, Univest’s financial professionals will offer tips and advice on these subjects for individuals through every stage of life.”
Community Banking Week Activities
Saturday, April 5: Univest will hold a Sensitive Document Shredding event at the Warminster financial service center (601 Louis Drive) from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The public is welcome to bring their old, sensitive documents to be shredded by Titan Mobile Shredding, LLC using a truck-mounted shredder. All paper will be recycled after the event.
Monday, April 7: Univest will donate $500 to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life as part of the Community Hero Checking program. Twice a year, a Community Hero Checking customer is randomly selected to choose the community organization or charity of their choice to receive the donation on the customer’s behalf.
Also on April 7, Michael Berenstain, author and illustrator of the popular Berenstain Bears children’s book series, will read from his book, “Dollar$ and $en$e,” to students at New Hope-Solebury Elementary School. The event is in conjunction with the Univest Bear Country Savings Account, a children’s banking program geared toward young savers up to 18 years of age.
Tuesday, April 8: “Preventing Identity Theft” seminars will be held at the Univest Town Center Office in Souderton from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and at Univest’s Bucks County Regional Center in Doylestown (in the Gateway Heritage Complex) from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Wednesday, April 9: Sensitive Document Shredding events will be held at Univest’s Perkasie financial service center (545 Constitution Avenue) and at the Lansdale Area financial service center (Route 63 and Forty Foot Rd.) from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 10: As part of its partnership with NBC10, Univest will sponsor the next in a series of free “Money School” seminars. “Smart Money Choices for Women” will be held at the NBC10 studios in Bala Cynwyd from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Seating for the seminar is limited. Friday, April 11: All Univest financial service centers will celebrate “Customer Appreciation Day” with complimentary refreshments for customers. Univest employees will participate in a “dress down day,” with each donating $5 to the American Cancer Society. Many service centers also will offer free child finger printing.
Saturday, April 12: A final Sensitive Document Shredding event will be held at the Royersford financial service center (328 North Lewis Rd.) from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
