Money is what people use to buy things they need and want. Coins and paper money are the two kinds of money used in the United States. Different types of money are worth different amounts.

Coins are made of metal and are stamped with how much they're worth. You can also tell how much a coin is worth by its size and color. All of the coins used today show the faces of famous people, most of them presidents. Coins are made today in the following values: penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half-dollar and dollar.
