Overdraft Protection Services

Avoid the embarrassment of a returned item and eliminate any fees that would have been charged by a third party with one of the following:

Personal Courtesy Overdraft Limit *:

Qualifying Univest checking account customers will automatically receive our Courtesy Personal Overdraft Limit. Should your account become overdrawn, your transaction may be paid up to your specified Courtesy Personal Overdraft Limit (limit is based on the type of Univest checking account you have). Although you will still be assessed the bank’s normal overdraft fee, this service will save you the embarrassment of a returned item and any fees the third party would have charged to you.

Money Manager Service:

If you have a Statement Savings, Money Market or Personal Loans & Lines of Credit you can link it to your Univest checking account. For a small fee, an automatic transfer will be made to cover any incoming items that would overdraw your account provided you have enough funds in the account to cover the overdraft amount.

For more information or to sign-up for overdraft protection, call or visit any one of our convenient Financial Service Centers located throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

* In addition to honoring checks, overdraft limits will be available (to accounts in good standing) through: ATM’s, Checks, Automatic preauthorized debits, MasterMoney™ Debit Cards, point-of-sale purchases, withdrawals and at teller windows. Although you will be able to access your limit through the ATM, your available balance will not include your overdraft limit on your receipt or balance inquiry. Overdraft fees which may apply include a $35 per item and a $6 daily overdraft fee. After 15 calendar days a notification will be sent to the customer requesting payment and will recommend that they contact the bank to discuss credit alternatives. After 30 calendar days, if account has not been brought to a positive balance, the customer will be notified that the account will be closed in 10 calendar days. This service is given to qualified account holders automatically; however, you may opt out of this service at any time by contacting any Univest Financial Service Center.
